7 Weeks

10/18 thru 10/24

<3 So in love with Baby Ortiz already <3

*Maternity clothes?*

*Stretch marks?*
No new ones!

Sleeping when I can.  Tossing and turning a lot, having a lot of lower back pain and hip pain, and my sciatic nerve has been bothering me.

*Best moment this week?*
When my momma gave me money to buy donuts and other great foods that I was craving!

*Miss anything?*
I actually wanted a Strawberry Daiquiri or some alcoholic beverage this week {which is kind of crazy because I haven't had alcohol in over 5 months}.

Still too early.

*Food cravings?*
Donuts, yogurt, fresh fruit, ice cream, Chinese, and Japanese.  I craved pretty much anything and everything that I did not have in my house at that time.

*Anything making you queasy or sick?*
Nothing in particular really, except eggs.  But not all eggs.  Only if I think about cooking them or seeing them cooked in my house.  I actually still want eggs, but I want them already made at a restaurant {like with a plate of food or on a sandwich}!  Weird!

Too early to tell.

*Labor signs?*
Way to early for these.

*Belly button in or out?*
Still in, and I still have my belly button ring in (don't know for how much longer, though!).

Very cranky and easily annoyed {think it has something to do with the pain I am in and the sleep I'm not getting}!

*Looking forward to?*
My prenatal care appointment on 10/25.

6 Weeks

10/11 thru 10/17

*Maternity clothes?*

*Stretch marks?*
Not yet!

Sleeping longer, better hours now.  Still having some crazy dreams.

*Best moment this week?*
My doctor's appointment when they confirmed my pregnancy and eased some of my worries by answering my questions.

*Miss anything?*
Not yet.

Still too early.

*Food cravings?*
I am still craving sweets, especially cinnamon rolls.

*Anything making you queasy or sick?*
Typical nausea throughout the week {no vomiting still! - yay!}, then on W6D6, I got extremely nauseous from the simplest smells.  Also, my prescription causes nausea, so yea, that sucks!

Too early to tell.

*Labor signs?*
Way to early for these.

*Belly button in or out?*
Definitely in.

Feeling better since I am almost through with my prescription, but still having crazy mood swings.  I go from laughing to crying to angry to laughing again in such little time, it is outrageous.  I am also getting super annoyed, super easily these days.

*Looking forward to?*
Finishing my prescription on Friday, 10/19.

5 Weeks

10/4 thru 10/10

{W5D3 - Taken on my birthday, 10/6}

*Maternity clothes?*
Definitely not!

*Stretch marks?*
Still no new ones!

Very restless - sleeping in about 4 to 5 hour segments at the beginning, then started sleeping better, with longer hours, at the end of the week.  Still having crazy dreams.

*Best moment this week?*
My birthday!  I got doughnuts! :)

*Miss anything?*

Way too early.

*Food cravings?*
Nothing this week.

*Anything making you queasy or sick?*
This week was a pretty good week.  Only felt sick one day.

Too early to tell.

*Labor signs?*
Way to early for these.

*Belly button in or out?*
Definitely in.

Still cranky from the lack of sleep.

*Looking forward to?*
My 2nd doctor's appointment on 10/11.

4 Weeks

9/27 thru 10/3

Took my pregnancy test on 9/30 and got a positive result, which was Week 4 Day 4.

{M.J. looking at the belly!}

{M.J. rubbing the belly!}

*Maternity clothes?*
Definitely not!

*Stretch marks?*
No new ones!

Very restless - sleeping in about 4 to 5 hour segments.  Also having crazy dreams.

*Best moment this week?*
Taking the pregnancy test, and seeing the positive result.

*Miss anything?*

Way too early.

*Food cravings?*
Cinnamon rolls.

*Anything making you queasy or sick?*
Nauseous in the morning and from random smells.

Too early to tell.

*Labor signs?*
Way to early for these.

*Belly button in or out?*
Definitely in.

A little cranky, but otherwise great.

*Looking forward to?*
My 1st doctor's appointment on 10/5.

Pregnancy Questionnaire

So I found these super cute surveys and questionnaires on some other blogs, and I wanted to do them.
{I will be trying my best to do one for each week of my pregnancy, as well!}

*Is this your first child?*
Yes, it is the first child for both of us.  Our miracle baby.

*What day did you find out you were pregnant?*
Sunday, September 30, 2012 - Around 10:30 P.M.

*How did you feel when you found out?*
Disbelief & pure ecstasy.  Again our miracle baby.  Neither one of us thought we could have children.

*Who was with you when you found out?*
Justin, of course.  I took the test and left it laying on the bathroom sink to go get him so that we could read the results together.

*When is your due date?*
June 6, 2013

*Have you had an ultrasound?*
No, hopefully soon, though!

*Have you heard the heartbeat?*
No, not yet!

*Sex of the baby*
Too early to tell

*What do you want?  Boy or Girl?*
I personally have always wanted twins.  One boy and one girl.  But, I am happy with either.  I just want a healthy baby.

*Who is going to be with you when you deliver?*
Justin, and I would love for my mom to be there, but we live on different coasts of the U.S.

*Are you going to video tape the birth?*
Probably not.  I am not sure if it is even allowed.  But, I would love for pictures to be taken.

*Natural or medicated birth?*
We will see how it goes.  I would love to have a natural delivery, but if medications are needed, then so be it.

*Do you think you will cry when you first hold your baby?*

*Do you know what you will say to the baby when you first hold him/her?*
I am not sure, but I imagine it will be, "I love you," "Mommy loves you," or something along those lines.

*Are you scared about the labor?*
It is way to early for that.

*Do you have a name picked out?*
Actually, we do.  We have a name for a girl and a boy already chosen.

*Is your baby going to be named after anyone?*
Yes.  If it is a boy, the middle name will be after my brother who passed away.  If it is a girl, the middle name will be after Justin's father, who has also passed away.

*Did the daddy help pick out the name?*
Yes, he did.

*Have you felt the baby move?*
No, that is way too early.

*What was your first pregnancy symptom?*
I would have to say swollen, sore, tender boobs.

*Will you have godparents?*
We are not sure.  I would like to.

My 1st Doctor's Appointment

October 5, 2012

My appointment was at 3:30 P.M., but I was told to arrive at 3 P.M. so that I could fill out the required paperwork.

I arrived on time, received all my paperwork, filled it out, and turned it in by 3:30 P.M.  Then I sat there and sat there and sat there some more!

At 4 P.M., I went up to the front desk to see if everything was okay or if I missed them calling my name.  I was told that I had not missed anything, but I was next.

Then I sat there and listened as several more people were called!  Thirty minutes later, I am called back up to the front desk.  At this point, I am told that they are too busy, the doctor is backed up, and they will not be able to see me today.

This makes me quite angry and upset for several reasons:
*I am pregnant.
*I had an appointment {which I was on time for}.
*If they knew they were so busy, why did they not tell me earlier {or schedule me for a different day or time}.
*I had to pay to get a ride to the office.
*I am about to cry in public.

Needless to say, I did not get to see the doctor, and my appointment was rescheduled for almost a week later.

We're Late

As of 9/30/12, I was 3 days late.

So, I did the most appropriate thing.

I cried hysterically!
{Kidding...The crying comes later.}

I took a pregnancy test.  And, automatically it showed two lines!

Then I cried!  But, of course, they were tears of joy!

I could not believe that I was pregnant.

Actually, I knew that I was pregnant before I took the test, but having the results confirmed by the test was still so shocking and so exciting.

And even being pregnant in the first place was a tremendous blessing and miracle.

How We Met

Many people think we were crazy, and some still do, but Justin and I met on Xbox live.

*May 14, 2012*
I was playing a game called Gears of War 3 with a friend, when Justin joined us in the game and started playing with us as well.

We talked, we laughed, we joked, and we became friends very easily and quickly.

We continued to play games together and talk everyday, and within 2 weeks, I was making plans to fly to California to meet him.
{Needless to say I was very nervous, but it was mainly about the flight!  I had never been on a commercial plane before, and I had never been farther west than Tennessee!}

*May 29, 2012*
Justin asked me to be his girlfriend, and of course, I said yes!

*June 1, 2012*
We said our first "I love yous" to each other!

*June 14, 2012*

I took my first commercial flight and traveled all the way across the United States to the extraordinary West Coast to meet the man that I had fell in love with.

From the moment I met Justin, I knew I was right where I was supposed to be!  It was like I had known him  all of my life.  I felt so connected to him from the very first moment.

Over the next two weeks, I knew I had to decide whether I was going to stay in California with Justin or go back to North Carolina.  Back to my family.

*June 28, 2012*

The day when I was supposed to fly back home to North Carolina.  To my family.  The last day I considered myself to be just a visitor in California.

*July ~ September*

The next three months continued to get better & better!

The more I learned about Justin, the more I fell in love with him & realized he is my soulmate!

We share so many of the same thoughts, we finish each others' sentences, and we cherish each and every moment we have together.

A Boy & A Girl

Of course this story starts with a boy and a girl.
Or rather, a man and a woman.

His name is Justin, and my name is Kayla.

Justin is 23 years old, and I am 26 years old.

We live in beautiful California.

Justin is Mexican American.  He is albino, though, so even though he is Mexican, he looks like white.  Literally!  Super white!  He has long blond hair and blue eyes.
{True Californian style - he he!}
Because Justin is albino, he is allergic to the sun.
If he is in the sun for long periods of time, he will burn severely, even if he has on sunscreen.
In addition, Justin is technically blind.  Not fully blind, but he must wear really thick glasses, and then he still has to be extremely close to whatever he wants to see.

I am American, but because I have some Indian blood in me, I am slightly tan {all year long}!
This results in me picking with Justin because he is Mexican, I am white, and I am darker than him.

*Random Facts about Justin*
Favorite Colors:  Blue, Black, Purple, & Green
Favorite Foods:  Pizza & Wings
Favorite Drinks:  Coca-cola & Root Beer

Favorite Games:  Xbox 360 - Call of Duty: Black Ops & Castlevania: SOTN, Poker - Texas Hold 'em, & Dominoes

Justin absolutely loves and adores his dog, M.J.  She is a miniature schnauzer mixed with another breed.  She is  white {for the most part}, and she has one black nail {pinkie nail on right front paw}!
She is rambunctious, loving, super cute, and a handful at times.  She has her own personality, which includes being happy, sad, moody, and mean!
Justin has no tattoos and no piercings.
He was born and raised in California and has lived here his whole life.

*Random Facts about Kayla*
